      On October 15, 2003, Kevin Nelson of Central City's Main Street Central presented the Gold Prospectors of the Rockies with a plaque. The award reads:

      Ken Barker, Vice President and Demonstrations Coordinator, accepted the award on behalf of the club.

      Main Street Central organizes the many yearly events that are so popular in Colorado's Central City and runs the Central City Visitor's Center in front of which the GPR sets up its panning demonstration booth.

Ken Barker passed away on October 30, just 15 days after the photos above were taken.
